Just as my poet’s heart was flagging, I had a visitation from the Poet King himself. (Live from London, on CBC.) I just know that he came to me to encourage me to keep going with the Poem A Day Challenge (LOL).

But seriously, seeing him perform and listening to his words reminded me of these words from Anthem, which I need to keep close to bring me out of my perfectionism:

Ring the bells that still can ring,

Forget your perfect offering.

There’s a crack in everything,

That’s how the light gets in.

Thanks, Mr. Cohen.  I’ll keep making my offerings, no matter how imperfect they seem.
